These are designed to make sure of a comfortable stay for our guests. Your co-operation is much appreciated.
Arrival and Departure times
Arrival time is from 4pm. Please advise us of your approximate time of arrival so we can meet you and show you to the hut and facilities.
Please vacate the shepherds hut by 11am on your departure date in order for us to prepare it for our next guests.
ACCESSIBILITY
Due to the siting of our shepherds hut 100 metres into our wood from the parking area, the uneven paths and steps up to the hut itself, unfortunately we do not feel our accommodation is suitable for less able guests.
PETS
We do not accept pets at our hut.
CHILDREN
Sorry we do not feel we can accommodate children at our hut.
SAFETY
Please take care on our flagged paths through the garden to our hut. They do get slippery in wet weather. There are no hand rails to the steps up to the hut so care is needed. Please do not smoke or vape anywhere in our hut or garden.
FIRE SAFETY
Please use our Pipsqueak Stove in the hut and the firepit outside with care due to fire risk. Only use the wood supplied and use a small amount of wood at a time to avoid sparks etc. Please ensure the firepit and stove have burnt down to embers before retiring to bed. A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are kept in the hut in case of emergency.
LIABILITY
The owners of the site are absolved of liability for accidents to guests and from any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. Vehicles/cycles parked on our off road parking area are left at your own risk. Secure bike storage is available.
COVID-19
To ensure the safety of our guests, our community and ourselves, we expect our guests to fully comply with all Government restrictions and recommendations. We have put in place measures such as enhanced cleaning protocols, no back to back bookings and the option of contactless check in/out. A full refund will be offered should your stay be cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
PAYMENTS/BOOKINGS
A deposit of 50% is due at the time of booking to secure your stay. The remainder is due 7 days before your stay or at the time of booking if you book less than 14 days prior to your stay. Payment to be made by bank transfer.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Should you need to cancel your stay, we will try to re sell your dates, but if we are unable to, your deposit paid will be non refundable. If we as owners have to cancel your booking due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be refunded any monies already paid (Also see Covid guarantee above).
PRIVACY POLICY
Your personal details will not be shared by us with any third party unless you ask us to do so. Please ask if you would like to see our Privacy Policy.
RUBBISH AND RECYCLING
Please recycle as much as possible as we like to do our bit for the environment. There are labeled recycling bins provided for glass, plastics, tins and paper.
CARE AND CONSIDERATION
Please take care of our hut during your stay. In particular please use the wood burner with care as there is a real fire risk and don't forget the stove and pipework will get very hot and will burn if touched. Please let us know of any breakages or damages as soon as possible . Our garden and woodland are a natural wildlife haven, so please respect our wildlife and the area they live in. We also appreciate your quiet manner whilst staying at The Hut to maintain the peacefulness of the property and the neighbourhood.
