The Hut
The Hut in the Wood is a beautifully appointed shepherds hut nestled alone in our pretty 1 acre woodland garden. It is an ideal tranquil retreat for one or two people wishing to stay in a quiet setting surrounded by wildlife and wonderful views. Askrigg is a beautiful village in Wensleydale of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ fame. The Hut is perfectly placed for a peaceful, relaxing stay but within 5 minutes walk to the village and all its amenities.
The hut measures 5m x 2.4m (16' x8') and features double doors, a full king size bed with fully sprung mattress and 100% cotton bedding, a well equiped kitchen area, table and chairs and a cute little log burner to keep you cosy. Outside there is a patio table and chairs to sit and enjoy the stunning uninterrupted views across the fields to Addlebrough. Why not light the firepit on chillier evenings and sit and enjoy the surroundings whilst listening to the owls and curlews calling?
A fully heated shower room for your exclusive use is just a short walk down the garden path. You will find a lovely, hot shower, WC and sink with soft, fluffy 100% Egyptian cotton towels provided. In The Hut the kitchen area is equipped for preparing light meals and snacks with a small induction hob, mini oven/grill, small fridge, kettle and toaster. With 3 pubs all serving great food and a lovely deli/tearoom in the village a short stroll away you may well decide not to cook yourself! Alternatively, we can provide you with a range of yummy treats - have a look at our ‘Enhance Your Stay’ Page.
The shepherds hut has mains electricity and 4G. It is not connected to mains water but bottled tap water is provided.
Visitors to The Hut are free to wander around our beautiful woodland garden and orchard area and enjoy the wildlife that live there, with the possibility of spotting our elusive red squirrel!
